How texts from po6tive work

Shops that use po6tive can text their clients. Here is who sends those texts, what they say, how you agree to them, and how to make them stop.

Last updated October 4, 2026

The short version

  • Texts come from the shop you visit, sent through po6tive, and start with its name.
  • You only get them if you tick a box at the shop’s kiosk. Neither box is ticked for you.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Who sends them

Salons, barbershops, nail and tattoo studios use po6tive for their bookings and their front desk. When one of them texts you, po6tive sends the text on that shop’s behalf, from a number set up for that shop alone. Each text starts with the shop’s name, so you always know who it is from.

po6tive never texts you about po6tive itself.

Texting is being switched on now. Until it is, po6tive texts nothing: a message a shop means to send by text waits in its app, and the shop may copy it and send it from its own phone. A text like that comes from the shop’s phone, not through po6tive, so replying STOP to it does not reach us. To stop those, tell the shop.

What they say

  • Appointment updates, if you tick that box: a confirmation when you book, reminders before your appointment, and a short “how did we do?” after a visit.
  • Marketing messages, only if you tick that box too: the shop’s promotions, birthday offers and news.

How you agree

At the shop’s check-in kiosk, the tablet on the front desk. The last screen of your first check-in explains the texts and asks, in two separate boxes, whether you would like appointment updates and whether you would like marketing messages. Neither box is ticked for you, and you can check in without ticking either. If a shop added you before you ever checked in, the kiosk asks you the same thing once, after a check-in, with both boxes empty.

Messaging consent

Fade & Co. would like to keep in touch about your visits, by text message and email. Messages come from Fade & Co., sent through po6tive, and every text starts with our name. Appointment updates are texts and emails about your visits — confirmations, reminders and the odd "how did we do?". Marketing messages are our promotions, birthday offers and news. Both are optional: you can check in without either. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts, HELP for help. To stop emails, tell us any time — just say so at the front desk. Your details are only used for Fade & Co. to contact you. Privacy: po6tive.com/privacy · Terms: po6tive.com/terms

Client signature

The consent step on a shop’s check-in tablet, as po6tive draws it. Fade & Co. is a sample name: each shop’s own name goes there. Both boxes start unticked, and Finish works without either.

How often, and what it costs

Message frequency varies: it depends on how often you book, and how often the shop sends offers if you agreed to them. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Stopping texts, and getting help

  • Reply STOP to any text and texts from that shop stop.
  • Reply START to get texts again. Ticking a box at a kiosk tells the shop you would like them, but after a STOP that shop’s number only texts you again once you reply START.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email hello@po6tive.com.
  • Stopping texts changes nothing else. Your bookings stay booked, and you can still check in.
  • Emails are separate. To stop those, tell the shop that sent them.

Your number and your privacy

We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Texts are delivered through Twilio, our messaging provider, only to send them.

The details are in the privacy policy and the terms.
